Leroy Lewis, Jr. Memorial Fund
VISION
In an attempt to preserve and foster the legacy of Leroy Lewis, Jr. and his commitment to educational excellence and the people of Johns Island, we established the Leroy Lewis, Jr. Memorial Fund to further his work in the community.
The fund will be available to the young people of Johns Island to encourage and support them to embrace new experiences and broaden their horizons. Our intent is to continue to pursue the ideas and ideals that were important to Leroy.
We ask you to join us in keeping his legacy alive.
PURPOSE
This fund is designed to inspire creativity and enrich educational experiences by providing grant opportunities for teachers on Johns Island. Public school teachers can apply for grants to lead engaging, impactful activities that enhance learning and foster student growth beyond the traditional classroom setting.

MEET LEROY
Leroy lived the gift of life fully and found wealth in his many blessings and his free spirit. His dedication to young people was evidenced by his work in the public schools of Charleston, SC and Washington, DC and his 35-year career enriching the students in the Upward Bound program.
His commitment to educational excellence was evident throughout his life. In our desire to further this commitment to the people of Johns Island, we have established the Leroy Lewis, Jr. Memorial Fund to continue this work in the community.
The fund will be available for the young people of Johns Island to encourage and support them to embrace new experiences and broaden their horizons. By furthering such engagement, we will equip the young people with the tools necessary to thrive in the dynamic landscape of the 21st century and enable them to build better futures for themselves and their families.
Our intent is to continue to pursue the ideas and ideals that were important to Leroy. We ask you to join us in keeping his legacy alive.
